NORTHLAND Signs Cooperation Agreement with South Korea's G&P Bio Science Company
On February 2, 2018, NORTHLAND signed a cooperation agreement with South Korea's G&PBioScience. The two parties reached an intention to collaborate on the development of a gene therapy drug for hemophilia A, involving coagulation factor FVIII, and will jointly advance the drug’s development and commercial application in their respective areas of expertise.
Since the first gene therapy drug, Glybera, was approved for marketing in Europe in 2012, a total of eight gene therapy drugs had been launched by the end of 2017. Gene therapy technology is rapidly advancing and is playing an increasingly important role in the field of disease treatment.
The hemophilia gene therapy drug jointly developed under this agreement can reduce the frequency of dosing and minimize the formation of inhibitors, holding great promise for practical applications.
