On July 18, 2014, the completion ceremony for the sterile eye-drop manufacturing facility of Beijing Huienland Pharmaceutical Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Huienland”) was held in the Eastern Zone of the Tongzhou Economic-Technological Development Zone. The ceremony was attended by leading officials from the Tongzhou District Government, the Xiji Town Government, and the Management Committee of the Eastern Zone of the Economic-Technological Development Zone, as well as representatives from the Korean Embassy in China, relevant Chinese and foreign pharmaceutical companies, research institutes, and universities. Senior and mid-level management personnel from South Korea’s HUONS Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and Beijing Northland Biotechnology Co., Ltd. also jointly witnessed this exciting historical moment.

Huien NORTHLAND is a Sino-foreign joint venture established through the joint investment of our company’s wholly-owned subsidiary—Beijing NORTHLAND Pharmaceutical Technology Co., Ltd. (51%), South Korea’s HUONS Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (45%), and Hong Kong Lint Pharmaceutical Technology Co., Ltd. (4%). Its core business is the research, development, production, and sale of ophthalmic drugs.

The new pharmaceutical plant broke ground on March 6, 2013, and was completed in June 2014 after a construction period of one year and four months. The plant covers an area of 10 mu, with a total investment of 120 million yuan and a building area of 9,950 square meters. It is equipped with the world’s most advanced integrated “blow-fill-seal” automated production line for eye drops, making it a modern sterile eye-drop manufacturing facility that meets both China’s new GMP standards and EU GMP standards. The first-phase design has an annual production capacity of 110 million units. By 2018, the plant plans to double its production capacity, and by 2020, it aims to achieve an output value of 1 billion yuan, becoming China’s largest modern sterile ophthalmic drug production base and providing high-end ophthalmic medications to patients both domestically and internationally.

The completion of the newly built pharmaceutical plant heralds the company’s entry into a new stage of development.
