        On June 24 and 26, 2022, regional meetings for the Phase III clinical study of “Recombinant Human Hepatocyte Growth Factor Naked Plasmid Injection” (code-named NL003) were held in Xiamen and Zhangzhou cities in Fujian Province, respectively. Participating research hospitals and their neighboring partner hospitals jointly attended these meetings to further expand the recruitment of patients.

        The two meetings were chaired respectively by Director Lin Xiaolei from the Department of Vascular Surgery at Zhangzhou Hospital, a participating institution in the Phase III clinical study, and Director Huang Xiaojin from the Department of Vascular Surgery at Zhongshan Hospital affiliated with Xiamen University. Each meeting brought together heads of relevant departments from lower-level partner hospitals in and around Xiamen and Zhangzhou to jointly discuss and deliberate. Han Chengquan, our company’s Vice President, led members of the project team to attend the meetings.

        At the meeting, the two directors each took turns to introduce the current applications of gene therapy drugs in the field of severe lower-limb ischemic disease, as well as the specific implementation methods, procedural requirements, and efficacy-sharing (in a blinded manner) of typical cases participating in the ongoing Phase III clinical trials. They also provided an overview of regional collaboration plans across different areas. We hope that all our sister institutions will actively participate, jointly advancing the project’s progress while providing new treatment options for patients with lower-limb ischemic disease at grassroots hospitals.

        Vice President Han Chengquan expressed his gratitude to all the researchers for their efforts in conducting the clinical trials for the company’s new drug. He also stated that the company will continue to organize and mobilize resources efficiently and flexibly, expand the number of collaborating hospitals and the geographic coverage, and strive to complete this clinical study efficiently, with high quality, and as soon as possible, thereby minimizing the impact of the pandemic on this clinical trial.
