On April 28, 2011, the Beijing Science and Technology Awards Conference and the 2011 Beijing Science and Technology Work Conference were solemnly held at the Beijing Convention Center. Liu Qi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, Guo Jinlong, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, and Wang Zhixue, Member of the Party Group of the Ministry of Science and Technology and Editor-in-Chief of the Science and Technology Daily, attended the event.

The conference presented certificates of honor to the organizations that received the 2009 Beijing Science and Technology Award. The project “Method and Production Process for Obtaining Highly Efficient Recombinant Protein Derivatives,” jointly submitted by NORTHLAND and Beijing Yinglait Bio-Technology Development Co., Ltd., won the Third Prize of the Beijing Science and Technology Award. Ma Suyong, chief engineer of the company’s Drug R&D Center, attended the conference as a representative of the award winners.
