On May 28, 2021, the “Beijing Urban Subcenter Optimization of Business Environment and ‘Two Zones’ Development Promotion Conference,” jointly hosted by the Party Working Committee of the Beijing Urban Subcenter, the Management Committee of the Beijing Urban Subcenter, the District Committee of the Communist Party of China in Tongzhou, and the People’s Government of Tongzhou District, Beijing, was held at the Beijing International Wealth Center. During the conference, awards were presented for Tongzhou District’s industrial policies, projects were promoted, and a signing ceremony was held for major “high-end, sophisticated, and specialized” projects in the Beijing Urban Subcenter. A total of 33 companies, including NetEase, signed agreements. Mr. Xu Songshan, Chairman of our company, attended the signing ceremony, and our company’s “Bioengineering Pharmaceutical Industrialization Project” was signed as an additional-investment project for existing enterprises in the Zhongguancun Tongzhou Park.

The bioengineering pharmaceutical industrialization project is the second pharmaceutical plant construction project our company is preparing to support the new drug R&D process. The project is being undertaken by Beijing NORTHLAND Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (a controlling subsidiary). This is the second-phase project following the first-phase industrialization project (Huienland), which was an ophthalmic drug production base. The second-phase project will focus on constructing facilities including a bulk drug production workshop, a formulation workshop, a logistics center, a research and development center, a quality control center, office buildings, and supporting facilities, with a planned construction area of 43,970 square meters. The newly built pharmaceutical plant will achieve continuous, automated, information-based, and intelligent operations, meeting both Chinese and international GMP standards, enabling the production of self-developed biopharmaceuticals while also providing CMO/CDMO services. Upon completion, this biopharmaceutical plant will become China's first human-use naked Production base for plasmid gene therapy drugs.

      Since Tongzhou District was upgraded to Beijing’s Urban Sub-center, it has been undergoing rapid and remarkable progress in areas such as planning and construction, ecological environment, industrial development, and institutional innovation. The regional business environment continues to improve, and supporting policies like the “Tong Eight Measures” have provided favorable conditions for companies stationed in the district. The company will fully leverage the industrial policies and regional advantages of Beijing’s Urban Sub-center, effectively organize the construction of its industrial base and its business operations, and contribute to the high-quality development of the Sub-center and the region’s economic growth.
