NORTHLAND partners with Chutian Technology to jointly build a high-quality EPC project for biopharmaceutical production facilities.
Recently, NORTHLAND’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Beijing NORTHLAND Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “NORTHLAND”), together with Chutian Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Chutian Technology”) and Sichuan Provincial Institute of Pharmaceutical Design Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Sichuan Institute”), solemnly held the signing ceremony for the “EPC Project of the Self-Developed Drug Production Facility for NORTHLAND’s Biopharmaceutical Industrialization Project” in Chengdu. Mr. Xu Songshan, Chairman of the company, and Ms. Zhou Jingying, Co-President of Chutian Technology and Director of Sichuan Institute, signed the cooperation agreement. Mr. Wang Yongjiang, Deputy General Manager of NORTHLAND Biopharmaceutical Company, and Mr. Yang Wenlu, Director and Co-President of Chutian Technology, among others, jointly witnessed this significant moment.

The project under this cooperation agreement is the EPC engineering for the No. 4 self-developed pharmaceutical production facility of NORTHLAND Bioengineering’s new drug industrialization project. The total contract price (including tax) is 117.53 million yuan, covering detailed project design, construction, procurement and installation of facilities and equipment, commissioning, validation, and training. Pharmaceutical production is a complex, systematic undertaking. To avoid disconnects between design and construction, reduce project risks, and shorten the construction period, the company has adopted an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) “turnkey” approach. This EPC project was rigorously carried out in accordance with the company’s bidding regulations, going through stages including bid opening, bid presentation, bid evaluation, and bid awarding, ultimately selecting Chutian Technology as the general contractor. Both parties will integrate their resources and complement each other’s strengths, adhering to Chinese and international GMP standards, introducing cutting-edge intelligent equipment and technologies, and achieving continuous, automated, and intelligent manufacturing. Upon completion, this project will become China’s first production base for human naked plasmid gene therapy drugs, with a planned capacity of 1.2 million doses. It will primarily support the large-scale production of the company’s self-developed innovative biological drug NL003, while also possessing the capability for large-scale production of recombinant protein and antibody-based drugs, and leaving ample room for future capacity expansion.

At the signing ceremony, Mr. Xu Songsan, Chairman of the company, expressed high appreciation for Chutian Technology's advanced manufacturing capabilities in pharmaceutical equipment and its significant contributions to the development of the industry. He also extended heartfelt gratitude for Chutian Technology's great attention and active cooperation throughout the bidding process. He stated that the self-developed pharmaceutical production facility project is an important component of NORTHLAND's strategic development and a key factor in ensuring the industrialization and commercialization of the company's innovative drugs. This project will greatly enhance the company's core competitiveness and accelerate its transformation from a biotech company to a biopharma company. Previously, the two parties had already established a solid foundation of cooperation in the equipment supply for the company's ophthalmic drug production line. Based on their recognition of Chutian Technology's pharmaceutical equipment expertise, as well as its comprehensive technical solutions and service levels, they hope that both sides will collaborate closely to ensure the project is delivered on time and with high quality, jointly building a world-class biopharmaceutical production base.

Mr. Yang Wenlu, Director and Co-President of Chutian Technology, expressed his sincere gratitude for NORTHLAND’s trust and recognition. He stated that, as one of the leading enterprises in China’s pharmaceutical equipment industry, Chutian Technology has always been committed to providing customers with high-end, intelligent, turnkey biopharmaceutical equipment, continuously driving innovation and development in China’s pharmaceutical industry. Relying on its strong technological capabilities and extensive industry experience, the company offers customers “one-stop” comprehensive solutions through a general contracting model, actively promoting the research, development, and implementation of smart pharmaceutical factories. In NORTHLAND’s EPC project, Chutian Technology will fully leverage its domestic production advantages, drawing on its advanced technology platforms, well-established product chains, sophisticated manufacturing processes, and comprehensive after-sales service system to implement meticulous management across key aspects such as project quality, schedule, and cost. The company strives to build this project into a benchmark undertaking in the biopharmaceutical sector, thereby supporting NORTHLAND’s commercial production of new drugs.
The successful holding of this signing ceremony marks the entry of NORTHLAND’s biopharmaceutical production base construction into a critical phase. This collaboration not only represents the integration of technology and equipment, but also serves as a model for innovative cooperation among upstream and downstream enterprises in China’s pharmaceutical industry. Taking this partnership as an opportunity, both parties will fully leverage their respective strengths, work closely together, and jointly promote innovative breakthroughs and high-quality development of China’s biopharmaceutical industry, thereby contributing even more to the cause of human health.
